Cosmin gets suspended sentence

Al Ahli head coach Cosmin Olaroiu, was sentenced to suspended three months jail after the Romanian manager was found guilty on the charges brought against him by his former club Al Ain, according to a verdict by the Abu Dhabi Misdemeanors court on Monday.

Cosmin allegedly criticised Al Ain Sports Club in a public statement saying that he would donate the Euro500,000 fine, which was adjudicated by the UAEFA against him, for Al Ain Club to buy uniform for the football team.

This was believed to mount to defamation by Al Ain Club who commenced proceedings against the European coach.

Meanwhile, Cosmin was also fined Dh21,000 and the court reserved Al Ain right to claim damages.
