Delacourte and Ramage clinch DDF Seniors Cup

Alain Delacourte and Eddie Ramage were crowned Overall Champions in their respective Stableford and Gross Divisions at the Dubai Duty Free Seniors Cup held at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Saturday, according to a Press release.

56 players competed in the event which was open to Men, 50 years and above and Ladies, 45 years and above. Each player used their handicap index as the allowance to be taken at the appropriate stroke index holes.

The card of Delacourte, was very impressive, with 11 gross pars and a gross birdie. A front nine of 21 points followed by a back nine of 24 gave him a win by 4 Stableford points from Tony Stroud on 41 points. Stroud settled for the Men’s Division title winning by 1point over Brian Hollis.

Eddie Ramage Captain of the ARGC Scratch League squad fired a two under par 70 to win the best gross. Ramage was on fire and took advantage of a short course layout with a consistent outward and inward score of 36 and 34. Ramage produced four birdies in his round. His inward nine was most impressive scoring only fours and threes over the final nine holes. In the Ladies Division home player Emma Rooms returned a well balance card of 41 with nine’s of 19 and 22 to edge out Karen Evans by five points, this was the second consecutive runners up spot for Evans.

Commenting on the turnout and standard of play, Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman of Dubai Duty Free said: “This is the 16th running of the seniors’ tournament and we had some incredible scoring today. Our thanks to all our participants and to the Arabian Ranches Golf Course for their efforts in ensuring a great day was had by all.”
