Dubai Private School, Dubai cruised to a massive 10-wicket win over Al Sadiq ‘B’ in the second Al Sadiq Inter-Schools U-10 cricket tournament at the Al Sadiq school ground in Dubai on Wednesday.
Al Sadiq ‘B’ decided to opt to bat first after winning the toss and it backfired as their batsmen were kept under a tight control by the DPS bowlers (Taha 2 for 4) and Tarun (1 for 10).
Chasing a none too difficult target of 24 runs, the result was never in doubt as DPS crusied home with 10 wickets to spare. In fact it was the second 10-wicket win for DPS after they had beat Gulf Indian High School, Dubai by a similar margin, earlier in the tournament.
DPS openers, Akash (11 not out) and Tanish Suri (10 not out) saw their team through. Tanish Suri of DPS was named the man of the match for his 10 runs and 1 stumping. Later in the day, Winchester School, Dubai defeated Kindergarten Starters, Dubai by a seven wickets margin.
Kindergarten Starters, having won the toss, put up a reasonably good total of 50 runs in the permitted 12 overs. Chandra Shekar was the leading scorer with 27 runs to his credit.
In reply, Kartikeya’s knock of 27 helped Winchester School achieve the target in the final over. Yash Shah’s three-wicket haul for 14 runs was the talking point though Kindergarten ended on the losing side. Winchester’s Kartikeya was picked the man of the match for his 24 runs and 1 wicket.
