Dubai Rugby Sevens tickets on sale today

The three-day annual rugby extravaganza attracts the world’s best players, and in excess of 100,000 fans are expected to attend this year’s event.

Dubai: Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, October 15, for one of the most popular events on the Dubai sporting and social calendar. The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens will take place on December 4-6 at The Sevens Stadium, and organisers are anticipating huge crowds again this year.

The three-day annual rugby extravaganza is hailed as a great showcase for Dubai, attracting the world’s best players, and in excess of 100,000 fans are expected to attend this year’s event.

The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens grows in popularity each year, and is recognised as a fantastic sporting occasion with the world’s top players on show. This year promises to be even more exciting with Olympic qualification places on the line, as the top four finishers in both the men’s and women’s series’ will earn a berth at the Rio Olympic Games.

Organisers are encouraging visitors to buy tickets before the event, to avoid queues when arriving at the venue, and save money in the process.

“Buying tickets before the event not only saves money, but speeds up the flow of people through the gates, and minimises the queues that can sometimes build up at an event which attracts such huge numbers” said tournament Commercial and Operations Director, Donal Kilalea.

“There’s something for everyone; the Rugby Village is a hive of activity, the fancy dress costumes are always entertaining and it’s a great event for families.

“We have a designated family entrance, 2000 seats set aside in the Air BP family stand, improved crèche facilities and entertainment for children throughout the day, making it a great day out for all.”

In a new addition to the celebrations this year, fans are invited to get into the spirit of the Sevens early with the new Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens Launch Party, taking place on Friday, October 17, at Meydan Beach, JBR.

The party will feature all the fun of the Sevens, with highlights videos, music, and entertainment by the Aggreko cheerleaders, as well as great prizes to be won. Entrance to the party is free, and well known DJ Dave Crane will be host for the evening. Partygoers, who must be over 21, are encouraged to get into the Sevens mood by coming along in their fancy dress, with the best and most creative outfits also winning great prizes.

Tickets will also be on sale at the party for fans who haven’t snapped theirs up in the first two days of sale, and anyone who buys a ticket at the party can celebrate with a free drink!
