Emirates NBD win

Preferring to bat first after winning the toss, Emirates NBD opener Taimur Khaleel provided the right start with a 26-ball 36 supported by four boundaries and two sixes.

A disciplined performance from Emirates NBD ensured they sneaked past Radio 4 by a close 10 runs in a Group A match of the Aseel Islamic Finance 26th Sharjah Ramadan Cup 2014 Twenty20 cricket tournament. The tournament is organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Preferring to bat first after winning the toss, Emirates NBD opener Taimur Khaleel provided the right start with a 26-ball 36 supported by four boundaries and two sixes.

But once he fell, a series of wickets tumbled leaving Emirates NBD stuggling at 82 for seven after being at a strong position of 63 for three.

Ranjith Nayar and Waqas Khan played brilliant unbeaten cameos as they ensured Emirates NBD had a substantial total to defend.

While Nayar scored a 22-ball 28 consisting of a single boundary and a six, Waqas Khan hit a 14 ball 19 not out with the help of two boundaries as Emirates NBD managed 128 for seven in 20 overs.

For Radio 4, Shahid and Vinod Nayar claimed two wickets each.

Chasing a competitive target, Radio 4 had their moments when they were cruising towards the target but lost too many wickets in between that proved to be costly as the Radio team managed to achieve only 118 for six.
