Abu Dhabi: Fazal Shahid hit an unbeaten century to lead Emirates Future International Academy to a run-feast against Al Yasmina in the UAE Exchange Centre Abu Dhabi inter-school Under-16 tournament.

The opener hit 104 not out highlighted by 14 fours and a six, as his team amassed 230 for one after he was sent in to bat first at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council’s Nursery Oval-1. Al Yasmina were bowled out for 32.

Izaan Khan, who stroked 68 not out, and Shahid then hit the Al Yasmina bowling to all parts of the grounds to share a 163-run stand for the second wicket without being separated.In the U12 competition at the adjoining Zayed Cricket Academy grounds, Suriya Satish hit 46 not out and took three for 13 from three overs to script a resounding 58-run win for newcomers Bright Riders over The Cambridge High School.

In a Group A match in the same age division, The Model outclassed Al Yasmina by 105 runs.

Faheem Abdul Salam and Sameer Vijay produced excellent all-round performances in the victory.

Model sent in to bat first were bowled out for 165. Wasat Khan was the pick of their bowling taking four for 26 from four overs. Al Yasmina were shot out for 61.
