Henrik Stenson has agreed to become an official ambassador for the Jumeirah Golf Estates (JGE) after signing an exclusive, two-year partnership to promote the Dubai-based golf and residential development.

The Swedish world number two, 38, shall now support the venue’s domestic and global marketing activity, including personal appearances and media/PR, while his Tour apparel will feature the JGE logo on the left-hand sleeve of his shirt.

“I’m delighted to be working with Jumeirah Golf Estates,” Stenson said. “I have a longstanding association with Dubai ever since living there with my family and – since that time – Jumeirah Golf Estates has become one of the world’s leading golf developments. I’d proud to be an ambassador for them. “Last year was one of the greatest of my career, capped off perfectly by winning the DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai titles at Jumeirah Golf Estates. I cannot wait to get back there and to stay in my new Dubai home.”

Neal Graham, JGE general manager, club operations, commented: “We are into our sixth year of sponsoring the European Tour and the DP World Tour Championship and I’m delighted that we’ll be able to amplify this sponsorship through our partnership with Henrik, who was the perfect ambassador choice for our business. We look forward to welcoming Henrik and his family to our community.”

JGE general manager Yousuf Kazim added: “Henrik joining us as an ambassador signals another positive stepping stone in the evolving development of Jumeirah Golf Estates.”

Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, Stenson has gone on to win 12 tournament titles, including the DP World Tour Championship.
