The event, which saw a strong field of 50 budding future stars, was the seventh of an eight tournament series and is part of an initiative by the Dubai Golf Academy Professionals to encourage junior golfers to move from the driving range to the golf course. Between the two Dubai Golf Academies at Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek and Yacht Club, over 500 juniors participate in regular weekly lessons as part of the Dubai Golf Junior Development Programme sponsored by Jumeirah and Wild Wadi Waterpark.

Juniors from five levels of the Dubai Golf Junior programme ( Black, Purple, Blue, Yellow and white) competed against one another with each level being highly contested. Winners received vouchers for Wild Wadi Waterpark, trophies and a host of other prizes. Each score was awarded with some valuable order of merit points which will be added together for all the events throughout the year.

As the competitors are fastly approaching the season ending final event this was a great opportunity for some to give themselves a much needed boost on the order of merit table. Organising golf professional Kenny Monaghan added “It was an excellent day and we are privileged to have some of the finest talent in the UAE. The score today from Joshua was first class. I wouldn’t have fancied taking him on myself today. Congratulations to all the players today we had some playing on the course for the first time, this is valuable experience and hopefully great fun for everyone.”
