The association has lined up a number of activities and Inter-School Sports Festival is one of them. Over 180 students from three Karachi schools arrived in Dubai on Monday to take part in four events — football, table tennis, basketball and throwball — at different venues in Dubai.
The Foundation Public School (FPS), based in Karachi, has been organising sports festival for the last 15 years. They got the invitation from PAD and over 180 students (boys and girls) are here to represent their country and be the part of UAE National Day festivities.
PAD officials organised a Press conference in the honour of visiting students at the association premises. While addressing the gathering PAD vice-president Zahid Termzi said: “We welcome the future of Pakistan in Dubai and I hope they will add to the celebration of the UAE National Day.”
FPS senior sports manager Murad Hussain while talking to Khaleej Times said: “The foundation has been organising the sports festival in Karachi for the last 15 years in which 30-35 schools take part.
“We have got this opportunity to visit Dubai and students are over the moon. They feel proud after wearing green jackets and representing Pakistan and these memories will live with them forever.”
This type of tournaments help students to understand other cultures in a better way and broaden their minds. “We are thankful to PAD for inviting us and it will go a long way in he development of these students. They will be up against the students form other countries and exchange of ideas will help them a lot. We want to make this event an annual affair.”
