Under the directives of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, the prize-money of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament has been increased to Dh6,000,000 as the richest Ramadan championship celebrates its first anniversary early next week.
Hassan Abdulla Al Mazroui, tournament’s manager, revealed the details of the competitions of the second edition of the tournament which includes Futsal, volleyball, road race, tennis, cycling and squash.
“The qualifiers of the futsal have attracted 24 teams, 13 out of them will make the line-up for the finals which kick off on the second day of the Holy Month of Ramadan,” he said during the draw ceremony.
Meanwhile, Al Mazrouie expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Shaikh Hamdan for his continuous support to sport in general and to this tournament in particular, Al Mazroui stressed that the directives of the tournament’s patron is to ensure the highest level of organisational effort to coincide with the UAE standards and reflect the true image and values of the sportsmanship.

Majid Al Abbar said that the organising committee has completed all the required arrangements, including the increase of the number of seats, parking lots, hospitality services, and distribution of gifts on daily basis, games will be televised live.
The tournament will include 6 sports: futsal, volleyball, padel tennis, cycling, running and squash, futsal teams will be permitted to register three foreign players, two registered in the records of the football association in each team provided that one foreign player only shall take part on the pitch.
Running will be open for the following categories: professional men (UAE Citizens), professional men and women (residents), and armatures, registration for the 10 km run will be opened till 29 June 2014, cycling for 70 km will be open for all categories including under 16 years children (for 20 km) and persons with special needs.
The organising committee declared that there will be gifts to be given away to the fans on daily basis. Three cars will be given away through a weekly draw on two Nissan Patrol 4WD.
