Sharjah — Sharjah Indian School (SIS) and New Indian Model School-Sharjah (NIMS-S) shared honours in the Soccer Forum Kannur (SFK) soccer tournaments at the Sharjah Wanderers Club.
SIS won the under 13 final beating NIMS-S 2-1 while the latter avenged their defeat by lifting the under 14 crown with an identical score against SIS in the summit clash.
SIS’ Harith Binoy got the Most Promising Player award and Lyel Jerome was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
Pranoj TV, SIS coach and PE instructor, said: “The event was held as part of Soccer Forum Kannur’s development programmes. The event, held annually is very encouraging for everyone and this year there were 16 teams with eight each in the two categories.”
“Entry to the event is free and the conduct of the matches were professionally done. SFK are very committed and have plans for more promotional events and coaching sessions,” said Pranoj, a former varsities player and currently an All India Football Federation coaching D licence holder.
