DUBAI - The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will take the Fifa U-17 World Cup celebrations to the next level on Thursday, when fans in the capital will have the chance to visit the Fifa U-17 World Cup Official Fan Zone on the iconic Abu Dhabi Corniche (public and family beach area). The unveil of the Fan Zone coincides with the opening match of the tournament at Mohammed Bin Zayed stadium on Thursday.

The Fan Zone will be a true festival of football, with a series of fun-filled football activities and fantastic giveaways from the LOC, Fifa Partner Kia and National Supporters First Gulf Bank, TCA Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Airports Company. Fans can also get their hands on complimentary match tickets from the Fan Zone every day from October 17 to November 8. Tickets will be available three days prior to each match day.

Mohammed bin Bdoua, tournament director of the Fifa U-17 World Cup, is looking forward to launching the Fan Zone at one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest landmarks and said: “The Fan Zone is a fantastic day out for anyone who loves football. Visitors can expect plenty of fun activities, from target shot games to human foosball to a mini-pitch, all with great prizes to be won. We are looking forward to bringing together all of UAE’s football communities to celebrate the Fifa U-17 World Cup in the UAE.”

The Fifa U-17 World Cup Fan Zone also offers visitors the chance to get involved in the tournament action and watch live screenings of key matches. Bin Bdoua went on to add: “This is one of the largest and most thrilling football festivals in the UAE so don’t miss out on the chance to get involved and be part of the celebrations.” The Fan Zone is open daily from 17 October until 8 November. Opening hours are 16 to 23 from Saturday to Wednesday and 16 to midnight on Thursdays and Fridays.Tournament tickets are available on first come first served basis at no cost, at all six host venues.
