According to Mohammed Omer, chairman of the referees committee, 72 referees have been nominated from the elites, first division and training schools to take part in the training camp which has been divided into two parts.
The first batch is comprised of 36 referees representing the elites and first division referees will travel to Nuremberg, Germany from August 13 to 25, while the second batch of the same number will represent the training schools referees, will camp at a nearby suburb from August 16 to 27, 2013.
International lecturers from UAE, FIFA, AFC, England FA, Spanish FA, Argentine and Japan will address the participants.
“Among the international experts who will address some of the issues under consideration is the Spanish lecturer Fernando Garcia, director of the FIFA refereeing development, Ian Blanchard, refereeing development manager at the English FA and compatriot Ray Oliver, FIFA and AFC expert Hani Blan from Qatar besides lecturers from Japan and Argentine.
“The list of the national experts included the referees technical manager at the UAEFA Shamsul Maidin, Ahmed Yaqoub, Khalid Al Dokhi, Badr Al Badri, Hussain Abdul Rahim, Khalil Abdulla alongside fitness coaches Dr Saad Jameel, Hassan Abdulla and Ahmed Hilal,” Mohammed Omer said.
Omer drew the attentions to the high technical value of bringing together this huge number of international experts to develop and qualify the referees according to the FIFA and AFC standards.
“We are obliged to the UAEFA for the great support and the presence of all those experts underlines the determination of the UAEFA to sharpen the referees at the required level,” he added.
“I hope the 2013/ 2014 season will be different and some new faces will be able to make their presence felt,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Maidin urged the referees to remain focused in order to make use of this oportunity to develop themselves.
