Abu Dhabi: James Wilson, general manager of Millennium Corniche Hotel Abu Dhabi, welcomed one of Italy’s master pastry chefs Salvatore Cappello, who flew all the way from Palermo along with his son Giovanni for their first visit to Abu Dhabi.

He was also welcomed in an event at Millennium Corniche by Giorgio Starace, the Italian Ambassador to the UAE who is always keen on strengthening the ties between the UAE and Italy through culture, music, education, food and others. Where both chefs Cappello the father and Giovanni the son who take cooking into the upper echelons of gastronomy, performed in front of sixty ladies their art in sweet making.

In Sicily, where everyone a connoisseur, the Pasticceria Cappello has become something of a legend where you will not only find perfect examples of all traditional Sicilian sweets as cassata and cannoli and sfinge, but you will also discover some wonderful new creations in their two shops including chocolate cake.

“We are very proud to have Chef Cappello in Abu Dhabi and in the Millennium Corniche,” said James Wilson.

Cappello family business began in 1940 and his irresistible delicacies, all beautifully displayed like precious jewels would be a good lead to all the Chefs in the Hotel to whom he trained and gave some of his cooking secrets where they will follow suit when he leaves.”
