Medimix Ayurvedic brand expands product portfolio

The Cholayil Group, a premier consumer goods manufacturer from South India, announced the Gulfwide launch of its expanded products portfolio.

Pradeep Cholayil, managing director of the Chennai-based Cholayil Group that has diversified into pharmaceuticals, healthcare, cosmetics and Ayurvedic products, said after four decades of offering effective protection for skin through the flagship Medimix brand, the group is ready to spread wings to newer categories.

“We are looking to take our range of natural ayurvedic products into contemporary categories, starting with the launch of Medimix Ayurvedic Face Wash,” he said at a Press conference.

Also present at the event were E.A. Phalgunan, managing director of Nasmat Al Sabah Trading, distributor of Medimix in the UAE, and Ramesh Babu, managing director, Eye Advertising.

Medimix brand, which has presence in more than 50 countries, produces the world’s largest selling Ayurvedic soap. A unique combination of 18 herbs in the Medimix Ayurvedic soap offers effective protection against pimples, rashes, prickly heat, body odour and other such skin problems, pointed out Pradeep.

The Cholayil Group, which was founded more than four decades ago by Dr. V. P. Sidhan, acquired Cuticura brand from US-based Muller and Phipps in 2002 Since then, the company has expanded the talc brand to deodorants and soaps. In 2011, Cholayil Group acquired Krishna Thulasi, a leading herbal soap brand owned by Krishna Herbals based in Kollam, to further reinforce its market leadership, said Pradeep.

“After several decades of curing skin problems we are future-ready with Medimix and plan to paint the world in the colours of Ayurveda,” said Pradeep.

Medimix products are available in three variants: Classic, Sandalwood and Glycerine. In the recent past, the company has introduced a new design and packaging for the products.
