A large number of visitors attend the light festival
The festival, organised as part of the 'Manama Gulf Capital of Tourism 2016', was held at Al Fateh cornice.

In a glittering ceremony, the Bahrain Light Festival was launched last week by Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, in the presence of Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Shaikh Khaled Bin Humood Al Khalifa.
The festival, organised as part of the 'Manama Gulf Capital of Tourism 2016', which was held at Al Fateh corniche, aims at introducing the latest innovations in light installations by showcasing the works of international contemporary artists.
Among the international artists taking part in the event are Titia Ex who will be exhibiting her 'flower from the universe' installation along with Jane Louise Studio who will be exhibiting 'the pool' which is an interactive installation.
The festival will also feature the work of renowned Arabic calligraphist, Karim Jabbari, who will be exhibiting innovative installations inspired by the Arabic typography.
The festival also included the latest innovations and light installations such as Jellights and Les Lumineoles.
Bahrain set to host key forum on education
Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) will hold 'Gulf Education Future Technology-GEFT2016' forum on May 18 to 19 under the patronage of Minister of Education Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi.
The GEFT2016 examines topics related to future directions in the ICT field and its impact on the education sector and its future in light of the expansion of use of ICT.
It will adopt appropriate educational methods that would improve academic achievement and upgrade the skills of graduates.
More than 57,000 used 'Gov. Employee' App on smartphones
The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) App "Gov. Employee" recorded more than 57,000 users since its launch in April 2014, Amal Shaheen, Director of Management Information Directorate at CSB, has said.
She said that the new update introduced more electronic services for employees at government entities.
The App includes a new blend of services needed by the employee in the government sector.
Meanwhile, the App won the smart government award contest as it featured in the Arab best smart application competition held recently in Kuwait.
The director of management information indicated that the download rate of the application has increased for the same period of the previous year by 133.5 per cent as a total of 57,487 users have downloaded the application.
The App was downloaded 4,0828 time on Android platform flowed by IOS platform with 1,6659 downloads.
Injaz Bahrain concludes 2016 National Competition
Injaz Bahrain, a leading non-profit organisation focused on youth economic empowerment, recently concluded the 8th Company of the Year Competition & 2016 Annual Appreciation lunch.
The competition event witnessed youth participants showcasing their entrepreneurial achievements and concluded with crowning of: "Roshena" team from The Ibn Khuldoon National School as the winner of the "High School Company of the Year" and "Avenir" team from the University of Bahrain as the winner of "University Company of the Year".
The "Bahrain Bayan School Innovators" team from the Bahrain Bayan School won the High School Product of the Year2016. The "Avenir" team from the University of Bahrain won the University Product of the Year2016,
The "Tickpills" team from Al Eman Girls Private School won High School Company for Best Social Impact 2016.
and the "iEnjoy and Benefit" team from the University of Bahrain won University Company for Best Social Impact 2016.
