Operations of two major UAE-based airlines to and from Khartoum remain uncertain due to the political unrest in Sudan. An Etihad Airways flight was delayed for over 24 hours due to the security situation in the Sudanese capital, the airline said in a statement.
Etihad said it is monitoring the situation closely and affected guests are being provided hotel accommodation where required. In Dubai, operations of Emirates flights to and from Khartoum will remain suspended until today. In addition, flights operated by Emirates codeshare partner flydubai to and from Khartoum and Port Sudan have been cancelled.
