The indie flick has received rave reviews, while also pulling in punters with an impressive $130 million in box office takings so far.

Writer Director Anderson – the man behind quirky fare such as The Royal Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom – has scored perhaps his biggest success to date with The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Ralph Fiennes plays M. Gustave, a veteran concierge in a European hotel who strikes up a friendship with the lobby boy Zero Moustafa (Tony Revolori).

Along for the ride in the tale, which also involves the theft of a priceless Renaissance painting, are Jude Law, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson and Bill Murray.

“[It’s] a flume ride through the imagination of one of the most creative minds making movies today, and the pleasure curls your toes,” said Rene Rodriguez of The Miami Herald.

“Anderson is up to his old tricks but with a magnanimous new confidence that feels like a gift,” said Ty Burr of The Boston Globe.

The Grand Budapest Hotel currently has a 92% rating on rottentomatoes.com and an 8.4/10 rating on imdb.com.
