Selena Gomez is teaming up with Gwen Stefani on Season 9 of NBC's The Voice, serving as her advisor. The news was shared Monday on The Voice's Twitter account. The multi-hyphenate Gomez will be joined by musician John Fogerty who has been set as the team advisor for Adam Levine, plus Brad Paisley who will mentor Blake Shelton's team, People reported earlier this month. Team Pharrell has yet to set a mentor.
Previously announced, megastar Rihanna will serve as the singing competition's key advisor for Season 9. "I always feel like when I'm in the presence of someone older than me, I have this respect and I love that I can learn. I want to learn from people, I want to be around women who are, you know, nurturing and caring and smart and creative," Gomez told Access Hollywood of working with Stefani, who added, "It's just incredible to me to think of somebody that's been doing it since they were a child..The dedication and the years that she's put in, and to [not] only be so young, but have so much experience, is kind of incredible.
Gomez rose to fame starring on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place. Prior, she was cast in the children's series Barney & Friends. This summer, Gomez released her latest single Good For You, in anticipation of her upcoming album Revival, which is slated for an October 9 release. Stefani returns to the hit reality show's coaches panel, after a one-season hiatus. The Voice returns to NBC on September 21.
