October may mark the official opening of Dubai's newest theme park, but thousands of UAE residents have already gotten a sneak peak of it - virtually.
Dubai Parks and Resorts has released an eight-minute video, taking viewers on a guided tour of the integrated theme park, which is set to bring visitors the best from the East to West.
With an exclusive sneak peak at how the Dh10.5 billion project has taken shape so far, viewers can see works being carried out in all four attractions - Motiongate, Legoland, Riverland and Bollywood Park.
Described as "your very own Hollywood theme park in the desert", the integrated theme park covers an area of 25 million square feet.
Pitted to be one of the best theme parks in the world, it will have three theme parks, one waterpark, a hotel and a retail and dining district.
The star attractions
> The Motiongate, being a Hollywood theme park, comprises of Sony Pictures studios, Smurfs Village, Studio Central and DreamWorks. The action-packed rollercoaster 'The Green Hornet', a theatre with a 1,000-seat multi-purpose venue, the Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and the Hunger Games are the peak attractions in this theme park.
> Legoland, which has over 40 rides, has a Lego City, a Lego castle and a Kid Power Tower. The Lost Kingdom in Legoland is the adventure attraction, where a family can go on an interactive treasure-hunt ride in a Pharaoh's tomb. There is also the first indoor Miniland dome, and an aquarium. The Legoland water park has over 20 slides and is constructed mainly for families with children from the age of 2 to 12.
> The Bollywood Park, based on the Indian film industry, is going to be the first of its kind ever designed. The focal points of this theme park are 'Lagaan', which will include a Ferris wheel, and 'Rock on' for live music and dancing. Another intriguing part of this theme park is the Bollywood film studio, where you get the opportunity to make a movie and be inside it, too.
> Riverland is the dining destination of Dubai Parks and Resorts. This section has buildings designed in the style of factories from the 18th and 19th centuries. And it brings you the medieval experience with the 'French Village'. You will also be able to stay at the park, as the Riverland has a Polynesian resort, 'Lapita'.
