The Damac station is characterised by several geographical features including its strategic and touristic location in Dubai, as it serves around 100,000 people in Dubai.
Following the renaming of Al Karama Metro station on the Dubai Metro red line, Damac Properties has inked a deal with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the naming rights of the Dubai Marina Station on the Metro red line.
“The Damac station is characterised by several geographical features including its strategic and touristic location in Dubai, as it serves around 100,000 people in Dubai. It is also an intersecting station with the Dubai Tramway that is set to open in November this year,” said Abdullah Yousef, CEO of the Rail Agency.
On behalf of the RTA, the agreement was signed by Yousef, while Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and CEO of Damac Properties, signed the agreement on behalf of Damac. Also present on the occasion was Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes, CEO of RTA Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, among other officials from both parties.
Sajwani said: “The Dubai Metro has proved to be a successful model for mass transit systems in the emirate, and we take pride in renaming the Dubai Marina station as Damac Station.
“Four of our projects, the Marina Terrace-the Waves, Ocean Heights and Damac Heights are also nearby the Damac station.”
