It's not fun to get back to work after the weekend, especially for those who have a five-day week.
There may be very few people who love the work and are eager to get back to office after the weekend. Majority of us are the opposite. But what to do, we have no other way.
So here are a few tips to get back to work with a positive mind the day after the weekend.
1. Plan on Thursday
Early means very early, not on the day after the weekend. It should start the day you end your weekday in the office. Finish the works of the week on Thursday and don't postpone the rest to continue in the next week. You should be prepared to start the week afresh when you return to the office next week.
2. Enjoy the weekend
Weekend is not only the time to rest, but to refresh yourself. Spend quality time with the family or friends and do something that helps you shed the stress of the week. Try to avoid the work follow you home during the weekend.
3. Sleep early
Yes, you have hundereds of things to do during the weekend and you can't finish all of it in one go. Prioritise the things and move the rest to another time. Because, there is always a next time. Don't try to squeeze the maximum out of your weekend. You should get proper sleep the night before you restart your office week. That gives you a fresher morning the next day
4. Wake up early
There is a clock scheduled inside all of us on our routine. We are used to it. But the beginning of the week could be a bit lazy. So set your alarm at least 30 minutes earlier to the usual time. This can overcome the laziness. Sunday's traffic is a bit harder than the regular days. You should calculate that time too, before leaving. Earlier the better. Plan the day's things-to-do list properly before you leave to the office.
5. Easier work first
Okay. Now you are at office, in time or a bit early. That's good. You have time to clean up the table or clear your old files in the computer. And you have so many urgent things to do now. What would you choose first? The advice is to start with the easier one, if you have a choice. If you start with the hardest one, it will make you tired easily and the rest of the work will suffer. And think of the things you can do out in the evening. That will help you finish the work fast.
