A man in Dubai accused of molesting a female employee had his three-month jail term and deportation sentence upheld.
The shopkeeper in Qusais had called the woman to his car parked outside the shop, as per Emarat Al Youm report.
She assumed that he wanted to have a word with her about work or he needed her help in transferring some goods to the store like he had done before.
This time, he requested she sit in the car to have a talk with him.
He discussed matters related to work regarding declining sales. Before leaving the car, she asked that she be given a one-day leave the following day for her child's birthday.
The shopkeeper surprised her by locking the doors and saying she needed to give him something in return.
He started touching her inappropriately. When she resisted, he pulled her hair and continued to molest her.
Her screams were so loud that he stopped pulling off her clothes, but he warned her that he would fire her if she told anyone what happened.
After leaving the car, she told her roommate and sister about the incident. She went to the police and lodged a complaint against him.
