Dubai - Feeling tired, the father reportedly went straight to bed and after two hours, the family noticed that the girl was missing.
A four-year-old girl died of suffocation in Dubai after getting stuck in a vehicle for hours, the police have said. Investigations revealed that her father didn’t notice she was inside the car.
In a report published in the Arabic newspaper Al Roeya on Tuesday, Col Makki Salman Ahmed, director of the crime scene department at the Dubai Police, said the incident happened around 7.30pm. The girl’s father had just returned home after shopping and asked his four children to help him bring things from his car into their house.
Feeling tired, the father reportedly went straight to bed. After two hours, the family noticed that the four-year-old was missing, and when their dad went to the vehicle, he found her motionless in the front seat, Col Ahmed said. Reports show she had suffocated. When teams from Dubai Police went to the location of the incident, they found no suspicion of a crime.
Col Ahmed called on all parents to always keep an eye on their children and never leave them inside a vehicle for any reason, especially during summer.
