CBSE Grade 12 results: Toppers miss out by 1 mark

Taking UAE school officials, teachers, and students by surprise, the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) abruptly announced its Grade 12 results on May 2 at 11 am, UAE time.
According to the CBSE's result portal cbse.results.nic.in, the senior school certificate examination (SSCE) webpage revealed that the results were out, however, schools were not able to access the link till 11.30 UAE time.
Ashok Kumar, CEO of the Indian High School said, "Results have been officially announced. It is available on CBSE's official webpage". 
Teachers, students, and school officials said they were expecting the results to be announced later this month. A teacher said, "We expected it to be announced on May 12."
The total pass percentage for the country is 83.4 per cent.
Joint toppers for the exam are Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora with 499 marks out of 500. The top three performing regions are Thiruvananthapuram with 98.2 per cent, Chennai region with 92.93 per cent and New Delhi with 91.87 pass percentage.
A total of 12,87,359 students appeared for Class 12 board examination, out of which 7,48,498 are boys and 5,38,861 girls.
