Sharjah Municipality issued two notices on Monday regarding food hygiene and extension of working hours for the holy month of Ramadan until the third day of Eid Al Fitr. Also read: More holidays for UAE's private sector In the first notice, the authority called on workshops and commercial establishments - except restaurants, cafeterias and bakeries - to start applying for a permit for extension of working/opening hours from the first day of Ramadan to the third day of Eid Al Fitr.
Interested parties need to apply for the permit before the beginning of the holy month. They need to report to the Municipal Inspection and Control Department in Industrial Area 5 or apply for a permit online at www.shjmun.gov.ae For more information, contact: 06-5931515 In another notice, the Municipality's Food Control section called on hypermarkets to properly store foodstuff in Ramadan as both supply and demand increases.
