His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reacted to the horrific attacks in Colombo on Easter Sunday that claimed nearly 200 lives.
Taking to Twitter to condemn the blasts in Sri Lanka, the Ruler said:
'Terrorists are those who betray worshippers in their places of worship, plant fear in their hearts and try to ignite religious conflicts in societies. Our condolences to the people of Sri Lanka, to the world and to everyone who works tirelessly towards tolerance and coexistence.'
Earlier, UAE denounced the terrorist bombings that targeted churches and hotels in Colombo in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
