Be extremely vigilant: UAE weather department issues warning as rain lashes country

Dubai - Hazardous weather events of exceptional severity are forecast, says NCM.

The UAE weather department on Sunday afternoon issued a warning, asking residents to be extremely vigilant of the weather conditions in the country.

The National Center of Meteorology warned of convective cloud formation associated with rainfall.

"The continuity of chance of convective clouds formation associated with different intensity rainfall and fresh winds causing blowing dust and sand with poor visibility at times over land and rough to very rough sea at times with the clouds," the NCM said in a weather bulletin.

The NCM's weather map shows a large part of the country covered in red, with the department asking residents to "be extremely vigilant, hazardous weather events of exceptional severity are forecast."
