Actress Ciara Sotto and her husband, Jojo Oconer, have finally called it quits after almost six years of marriage. Sotto shared the news on an Instagram post, the news has created quite a buzz amongst fans.
"These past weeks have been very difficult for me and my son. It's true that I moved out of our home and decided to go back to my parents' house for now. The truth is painful, but it is what it is. I know that the Lord will strengthen me after this. I prefer to keep my privacy at this time & I would appreciate the public respecting this. Thank you to those who are sending me messages of support and encouragement," read Sotto's post on Instagram.
Shortly after this became public, the actress shared a post from The Daily Mail on Twitter. The post was about a woman taking revenge on her husband's mistress, saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Fans were led to believe that there must be a cheating scandal involved. After fans saw Ciara Sotto's post, they began to speculate that Julia Clarette, another Filipina actress, may have been involved as a third party. The former Eat Bulaga host had surprised many of her fans after she announced that she had left her show and migrated to Malaysia, where she is now based. Ciara put all speculations that Julia was involved to a rest with another tweet, however.
Meanwhile, a third actress, Valeen Montenegro, has found her name dragged into the issue. Both Ciara Sotto and Valeen Montenegro are cast members of GMA Network's morning drama series, Princess in the Palace, and it is believed that there were plenty of opportunities for her to be alone with Ciara's husband.
Olive de Jesus, Valeen's manager, has denied that Valeen is the mistress of Jojo Oconer, however Valeen has yet to personally speak up. Ciara herself has not posted anything to confirm nor deny rumours.
