The backlash from the rising India-Pakistan tensions has adversely affected Pakistani artists working in India.
Many in India have called for the ban of Pakistani artists in India and vice versa.
Now, a DNA report has sent shockwaves throughout Bollywood and it's artists after it claimed that Mahira Khan has been dropped from Shah Rukh Khan's film.
The report went on to add that, "It was a very painful decision for producer Ritesh Sidhwani to take. The pressure to replace her had been building up for months. It reached a crescendo after the Uri attacks. It came to a point where it became impossible to shoot with any Pakistani. People suggested all kinds of solutions to the impasse, including shooting in Dubai. But it didn't seem viable. Now, Mahira has unfortunately been relieved of her duties."
The Pakistani actress Mahira Khan earlier this week condemned the Uri terror strike, saying she prays for a more peaceful world. Fawad Khan, who stars in upcoming Bollywood film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", also broke his silence over the attack in a Facebook post.
The Raees team need to find a replacement for Mahira Khan in less than two weeks.
Shah Rukh Khan's Raees is slated to release on January 26 next year.
