Sharjah - 245 patrols will be deployed around mosques on the eve of 27th and 29th of Ramadan.
Muslims will be allowed to offer special Ramadan prayers only in the mosque campus, the Sharjah Police have announced.
Special patrols will be deployed to ensure that worshippers don't offer the Taraweeh or Tahajjud prayers on the street or at roundabouts.
Extra security patrols are being deployed on the 27th and 29th of the holy month of Ramadan to ensure smooth traffic and ensure that all Covid safety measures are adhered to.
A top police official said that more than 245 patrols will be deployed around mosques on the eve of 27th and 29th of Ramadan to prevent gatherings. These two holy nights typically see a huge rush at mosques, with worshippers spilling out all the way to the streets.
However, this will not be allowed, with patrols stationed to ensure compliance.
Inspection teams would also monitor compliance with precautionary measures such as wearing of masks, maintaining social distance and other precautionary measures.
