Israel has accepted Dubai's invitation to attend the Expo in 2020, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement.
Following Thursday's announcement by the organisers of Dubai Expo 2020 that 192 countries have announced their participation in the mega event, Israel issued a statement on Thursday accepting the invitation:
"Israel will be taking part in the 2020 World Expo, being held in Dubai, UAE.
This is the latest World Expo that Israel has participated in, and we look forward to sharing our innovative spirit and the advances our entrepreneurs and innovators are making in the various fields such as water, information and medical technologies.
Expos are global gatherings where people from around the world come together to celebrate ingenuity and apply it to shared challenges. We are excited to be a part of that common endeavor."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also tweeted, welcoming the participation of Israel in the Dubai Expo.
