Man smashes Pakistani student's face with brass knuckles

He was attacked on university grounds.

Seven people assaulted a Pakistani student on university grounds. The attack - which led to him having a smashed nose, is reported to be racially motivated.
According to SBS News, Pakistani Abdullah Qaiser was driving through the campus when his car was stopped by a group who then hurled insults and assaulted him. Qaiser said the group shouted several expletives at him and even told the 21-year-old to "go back to your country!"
Apart from verbal abuse, one of the men in the group punched him using brass knuckles. His nose was smashed and doctors said that he would need to undergo surgery.
The student union of the University of Newcastle stressed the need for stricter security measures in the school. "Students are asking for increased security on campus, they want to see greater patrols," said President of the Student Association, Christy Mullen.
Despite the attack, Qaiser remains optimistic of staying in Australia. "I still have a positive view of Australia I still like Australia, a bunch of people cannot change my views about Australia," he said.
