It was built in 705 AD. The hotel has been closed only for renovations. There is no television, no internet access. These factors, amongst many others, make Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan hotel a real treat for relaxation.

The hotel located in the village of Hayakawa in Japan, is the oldest hotel in the world, having served 52 generations for 1,311 years with its 35 room capacity.

While the hotel is furnished conventional Japanese style, there is a touch of modernity as well. Besides its unique ambience, the hotel offers hot spring baths and mountain walks for recreation. It has accommodated emperors, warlords and samurai over the years.
