An anonymous shopper began filming as rain started pouring through the collapsed section of the 60-foot-tall roof, as patrons screamed and ran for cover. The shopper - who filmed the incident - later said, "If it landed on a person, they could have been killed."
"The thunderstorm was very, very, strong and the rain was powerful, but the building should be strong enough to withstand that."
The rain was still pouring in at midnight because of the fierce electrical storm with thunder, lightning and severe rain that hit the city around 8:30 pm local time.
The area around the collapse was cordoned off by the mall staff, and repair work was underway.
