Mysterious footage of a fireball streaking through the sky is going viral after making rounds among Malaysian and Singaporean social media circles.
The dashcam footage of the celestial sighting has gained over 372k views on Facebook alone.
The International Meteor Organization's website confirms that this was probably a meteor, noting four separate reports of the fireball sightings at 5 am from Singapore and Johor Bahru in Malaysia.
Many meteors hit the atmosphere each day, but the majority burn up before striking the surface.
Similar sightings were also reported in Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States this week.
