THRILLING: UAE's Sultan Al Nuaimi and Indonesia's Charles Latuperissa fight it out in Dubai.
It was Vijender's 12th straight win in what has been a phenomenal professional career.
There were reasons to be happy for Pakistani boxing fans as well as their star boxer Muhammed Waseem produced a superb tactical fight against a tricky Mexican opponent named Gangigan Lopez to win the 10th bout of his career with a unanimous decision.
British boxer Thomas Patrick Ward, on the other hand, came up with an attacking masterclass to extend his unbeaten record to 29 wins.
Martin Casillas, Ward's opponent on Friday, had no answer to his aggressive tactics in the eight-round battle with the Briton lading a hail of punches on the Mexican. Despite going down in the final round, Casillas was quick to get back on his feet, but that wasn't enough for him to stop Ward from recording his 29th straight victory.
It was also a day to remember for the UAE boxing as two of their boxers knocked out their respective opponents. Sultan Al Nuaimi could not have hoped for a better debut as the youngster from Ajman knocked out Charles Latuperissa of Indonesia in one minute and 53 seconds.
Fahad Al Bloushi was just as impressive in his knockout win (2 minutes13 seconds) over Georgia's Sandro Tughushi.
