Argentine giants River Plate may have booked their place at the Fifa Club World Cup only a few days ago, but the newly-crowned Copa Libertadores champions looked fresh when they took part in their first training session after arriving in Abu Dhabi, a press release said.
River came from behind to beat their bitter rivals from Buenos Aires - Boca Juniors - in the rearranged Copa Libertadores final second leg on Sunday night, earning a spot at the 15th edition of the Fifa Club World Cup as representatives of South America's CONMEBOL confederation.
The second leg of the Copa Libertadores final was played at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid due to fan violence in Buenos Aires.
River will play either Al Ain or Esperance de Tunis in the semifinal at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain on Tuesday (December 18).
