Four young strikers in the UAE have got the opportunity to take their football to the next level as they have been picked by Al Nasr and Shabab-Al Ahli Dubai, thanks to the du LaLiga High Performance Centre (HPC), the first ever global initiative by La Liga.
The selection of the four strikers was based on their superior talent and skills they displayed at the du LaLiga High Performance Centre.
They four players have taken part in a professional development programme delivered by La Liga's Uefa pro-certified coaches.
Strikers Lotfi Machou and Mehdi El Kamlichi have joined the U21 and U17 squads at Al Nasr, while Ahmed El Yamani and Hussein Hawi have been selected to join the U21 and U17 squads at Shabab-Al Ahli Dubai.
Jose Maria Zarco, du LaLiga HPC U16 coach, hailed the role played by their programme in developing young players.
"Today's announcement reflects du and La Liga's ongoing commitment to nurturing the talents of youth footballers that are selected to join our du LaLiga High Performance Centre," he said.
"Our programme has very successfully developed players through our LaLiga training methodology and it has proven to be an incubator of talent creating a pipeline of professional football players for local clubs with more than 25 players being selected from our programme for clubs across the UAE."
The year-long programme allows the du LaLiga HPC players to compete in local leagues and international tournaments and join the du LaLiga HPC scouting programme in Spain, where they raise their level of play in competitive matches against La Liga's strongest teams, with club scouts in attendance, choosing the strongest players for trials with their clubs.
