Left-handed opening batsman Gautam Gambhir will replace the injured opener Lokesh Rahul in the second Test match against New Zealand at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Gambhir's impressive show in the recent Duleep Trophy, where he scored four back-to-back half-centuries including two 90 plus scores, helped him get back to the Test team after a gap of two years.
Gambhir's last Test match was against England in August 2014.

Gambhir is back in the Indian Test Team...don't they say...Never Say Never. Congrats. ??????The 34-year-old player found it tough to get back to the team after Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan emerged as a reliable opening pair.
Thoughts with Rahul though...will be missed.
