The long wait is over for CD Guadalajara and the CONCACAF champions can now turn their full attention to their Fifa Club World Cup debut after arriving in Abu Dhabi on Monday night.
The squad, made up entirely of Mexican players, waited almost eight months for this milestone moment after becoming the first team to book a place at the Fifa Club World Cup UAE 2018 with victory over Toronto FC in the CONCACAF Champions League final back in April.
CD Guadalajara, commonly known as Chivas, enter the tournament at the second-round stage on Saturday, where they will play AFC Champions Kashima Antlers from Japan, at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain (kick-off 5.30pm UAE time).
