IPL 2020: RCB call up Zampa to replace Kane Richardson

Adam Zampa last played in the IPL during the year 2017 for the now defunct Rising Pune Supergiant.

Australia's leg-spinner Adam Zampa has been drafted into the Royal Challengers Bangalore's team in place of Kane Richardson for the upcoming Indian Premier League.
RCB confirmed the news on Twitter. Kane Richardson pulled out of the IPL as his wife is expecting the birth of their first child.

Zampa previously played for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant. Zampa finished the 2017 season taking 19 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 7.54. The haul included 6 for 19 - the best IPL figures by a spinner, ESPN reported.
"We are disappointed to not have Kane's skills with us this IPL as he certainly on top of his game," Mike Hesson, Royal Challengers' team director, said.
"However once we found out Kane and Nyki's baby was due during the IPL, it's an exciting time and we were fully supportive of Kane wanting to be at the birth of the first child. When looking at our squad for UAE conditions we felt it was an opportunity to bring in another quality leg-spinner in Adam Zampa to provide cover for Chahal and also give us extra options if conditions suit spin as expected during the tournament."
