Khurram hits brilliant century

Dubai - Khurram Shahzad hit his career best score of 142 to guide Mavericks to a 69-run victory over National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) in Mavericks Friendly League, a Press release said.

Mavericks Cricket Club along with Dubai Cricket Council organises the 25-over cricket tournament.
Mavericks won the toss and decided to bat first. NBF bowlers were initially up to the task and kept Mavericks batsman in check as they only managed to score 48 for 1 in the first 10 overs. But then Khurram set the Sevens ground on fire as he smacked 12 fours and 10 towering sixes during his unbeaten knock of 142 from 76 balls.
Mavericks scored 180 from their last 15 overs and set a massive total of 232 for NBF.
With an asking rate of almost 10 runs per over, NBF batsman never really got back into the game as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. NBF Sreejth showed some resistance, scoring quick 27 runs in lower order but by that time Mavericks had the game in their pocket.
NBF managed to score 163 runs for the loss of nine wickets at the end of their innings.
In the earlier match, Mavericks defeated Dubai Mammoths by 67 runs in fourth game of MFL.
