Masters Champions League gets seal of approval

Dubai - David East, the CEO of Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) said: "The team at GM Sports is putting in a lot of hard work to develop the Masters Champions League (MCL) in the UAE.

The Masters Champions League (MCL) got the official status they were eagerly awaiting after Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), the tournament host, in conjunction with other key governing bodies of cricket offered them a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Zafar Shah, CEO of MCL, reacted to this news with great enthusiasm, "It's an extremely valuable milestone for us and I am so glad to learn about the official seal of approval. This reassures the effort we've been putting together towards the development of this exciting and fun-filled tournament. We will now move ahead with full steam and launch the necessary initiatives to proceed to the next level.
"First in line will be the announcement of the six team owners alongside the official auction event for the players on Nov 27, 2015. I would like to thank the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) for their continuous support and boosting the credibility of MCL with an official recognition. This fresh air of confidence will further augment our overall value creation proposition, as we march ahead to create the grandest cricket tournament ever witnessed in this part of the world."

It's an excellent attempt to uplift human aspirations and provide a new ray of hope for budding players from the UAE to take up the game more seriously. I wish MCL the very best and eagerly look forward to becoming a part of this new chapter in the history of cricket in this nation," he commented.
In this first edition slated to start on January 22, 2016, six teams will accommodate a total of 90 players who will be selected during the auction and equally divided in the ratio of 15 members per squad.
These players, who've officially retired from international cricket, will recreate their magic across the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium - destinations which have previously hosted cricket tournaments .
