Al Wahda staged a fine comeback to edge past Ajman in the Arabian Gulf League at the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium on Thursday night.
The Clarets were two goals down after William Owusu Acheampong and Vander Sacramento Vieira had struck early on 10 and 15 minutes respectively, for the hosts.
But Al Wahda's talisman veteran Ismail Matar sparked the fightback with a goal on 40 minutes. Argentine striker Sebastian Tagliabue's brace then bookended the third from Khalil Ibrahim Al Hammadi as The Clarets won 4-2.
Tagliabue's double came on 51 and 88 minutes, while Khalil Ibrahim Al Hammadi scored on 63 minutes.
It was a welcome relief for Manuel Jimenez after Spaniard had replaced Dutchman Maurice Steijn as coach. And Jimenez, who had managed La Liga club Sevilla and Greek side AEK Athens, had begun his tenure with a 3-1 defeat against Al Nasr last week.
The victory, Al Wahda's second of the season, took them to seventh with six points. They have three losses to go with those two wins. The Clarets had lost to Fujairah in their opener before edging past Al Jazira in the Abu Dhabi Derby. They then had gone down to Bani Yas and Al Nasr.
Meanwhile, Ajman suffered their second successive defeat on the bounce after having started well with a draw against Bani Yas and shock wins against Al Nasr and Al Wasl.
Nonetheless, The Oranges remain in fifth with seven points.
Ajman make the away trip to meet Shabab Al Ahli next Thursday, while Al Wahda take on Al Dhafra next Friday.
