Pakistan's Owais Iftikhar clinched the World Cup award for 'Tekken 7 - Iron Fist' tournament, which was held for the first time in the Middle East and hosted by Dubai Outlet Mall and organised by OUG, Emirates E-Sport Association, and ROX Gaming.
The Emirates E. Sport Association and Dubai Sports Council were the main sponsors of the event, which witnessed the participation of a large number of champions of this game, including 16 international players.
Advisor Saeed Ali Al Taher, Secretary General of the Emirates Association of E-Sports witnessed the final celebration of the event at the Dubai Outlet Mall.
Abdul Rahman Malek, also from Pakistan, finished as runners-up while the third place was claimed by Korea's Sing Hau Kang.
Al Taher thanked all organisers and partners in making the event a success, adding that the competition was fierce, as the winner will participate in the World Cup to be held in Bangkok in December.
Mohammed Mubarak, Executive Director of the UAE (OUG Gaming) expressed his pleasure for the success achieved by the tournament, where the UAE proved its strength in hosting the international events related to e-sports, as well as the positive praises from all the participants in the tournament. "In our hearts, we are proud of the great success that has been achieved, thanking all the partners who contributed to the success of the global event."
Mohammed Khamas, CEO of Al Ahli Holding Group also praised the efforts of all entities that worked to make the event a success, adding that they were happy to host events of E. Sports and any other similar events in the future.
