Abdullah Al Rashidi gave Kuwait their second shooting medal on Saturday, after Fehaid Aldeehani's gold in the men's double trap, earlier this week.
Rashidi, in the bronze shootoff with Mikola Milchev of Ukraine, tightened his otherwise tidy work in the final two rounds when the tense situation seemed to have rattled Milchev's concentration.
The 16-14 win for Al Rashidi is of more significance as he, like Aldeehani, entered competition as Olympic Independent Athletes and not as Kuwaiti representatives.
The gold here went to Italy's Gabriele Rossetti who after a brilliant comeback in the late stages of the two-day qualifiers, squeezed past overnight leader Marcus Svensson of Sweden 16-15 in the final.
