Refuting reports that Ryan Babel has terminated his contract with Al Ain FC, sources at the club said he was very much part of the reserve team.
"His contract runs till 2017 and he trained even today (Thursday) with the club," an official said.
There were reports in the Dutch media that were run by news agency Reuters carrying quotes of his agent Winnie Haatrecht saying certain promises made to Babel were not 'fulfilled'.
"Babel is very much part of the club. He doesn't play with the main team as their is a four-player foreign quota rule," he said.
Last year, the former Liverpool star was in trouble with his inappropriate tweets and also ran out of favour of coach Zlatko Dalic.
In fact, during the signing ceremony of Dyanfres Douglas in January, the coach had said: ""I want to say thank you to Emmanuel Emenike and Ryan Babel for the last six months with us," Dalic said. "I wish them all the best next season at a new club. This is football, this is life. Also, we did everything that our fans wanted of us. I hope to make them happy."
The 29-year-old moved to Al Ain in July and his contract runs until next June.
