International cricketing action returns to Pakistan on Sunday as they play Sri Lanka in the third T20 of the series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The outcome of the encounter, though, will matter less as the match significantly aims to end the isolation of Pakistan since the 2009 terror attacks.
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is excited about playing at home and in true spirit requested fans to encourage Sri Lankan players too. He noted the Sri Lankans have taken the right step to visit Pakistan. "I am hopeful the crowd in Lahore will not only support us but Sri Lanka too," the skipper said after clinching the three-match T20 series 2-0 in Abu Dhabi. "The crowd had supported World XI players and they will most likely respond the same way for Sri Lanka too," the skipper added.
Sri Lankan interim skipper Thisara Perera said Lahore is an amazing place.
"I went to Lahore for the World XI game," he noted.
Perera is looking at positives following a fighting second T20 match.
"As a captain, I'm really proud of them and our win is not too far away. It's coming soon," he said hoping for a consolidation victory after losing the second T20 thriller in Abu Dhabi.
The fly-in, fly-out will be a short stay for Sri Lanka but a successful conduct of match will help Pakistan Cricket Board make case for more action. And thousands of security personnel have been posted outside Gaddafi Stadium to ensure fool-proof security.
