Sharjeel determined to make amends

Abu Dhabi - Pakistan batsman has just made 22 and 2 in first two games

With scores of 22 and 2 runs from the first two T20s, Sharjeel Khan has had a lusterless tour so far. However, the opener is determined about making amends in the third and the final T20 at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening.
"Blip in one or two matches does happen but all these are part and parcel of the game. I am confident that I will do well in the third T20. "Moreover, in a T20 there are always chances of things going awry anytime. I have to take risk and need to push in the first six overs."
How easy or difficult was it to read the West Indies bowlers?
"There are few players who I have faced in the Pakistan Super League. There are few new bowlers on whom I have put extra focus. So far it's even."
Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones had told a Pakistan daily that 'Sharjeel is one player who can change the fortunes of Pakistan cricket'. Reacting to Jones' remarks, he said: "He is among the top names in the cricketing world. This is a big compliment for me. I will try my best to continue my stroke play and better my game."
Sharjeel has also been included in the ODI squad. On his preparations, he said: "I am now focusing on improving the all-round aspects including fielding. I want to play well and hope to boost the team's prospects."
Stressing on his fielding, he said: "I have recently passed a fitness test by the coach."
A win in the third T20 will be a great achievement against the current champions and Sharjeel is confident this will help team's cause in the ODI series too.
"See, this is a big boost for the team. We have tamed champion side West Indies. All the players are in high spirit and the mood is upbeat. We will take this momentum into the ODI series."
For now, he and the rest of the team are focusing on Tuesday's Capital clash.
